The British monarchy is set to receive an extra £45 million in funding due to soaring profits from the Crown Estate. The income boost comes from a surge in profits, largely attributed to the opening of six new offshore wind farms.

Crown Estate Profits Reach £1.1bn

Crown Estate profits have increased to £1.1 billion. The Sovereign Grant will rise from £86.3 million to £132 million. This will help fund the final stages of Buckingham Palace renovations.

The Royal Family plans to purchase two new helicopters. Frogmore Cottage remains empty a year after the Duke and Duchess left.

Last year, the funding of the monarchy was reduced from 25% to 12% of the Crown Estate’s net profits, in anticipation of rising income from offshore wind farms. The Crown Estate is a property business owned by the monarch but run independently. Had this reduction not taken place, the monarchy would have received £275 million in 2025-2026.

Despite a 3% decrease in natural gas and heating emissions, total greenhouse gas emissions slightly increased due to business travel.
