Stellantis is getting ready to roll out some new, super cool hydrogen-powered RAM Trucks in North America. And guess what? They’re coming all the way from Mexico!

They’re planning big time too! Stellantis wants to boost their hydrogen-powered vehicle lineup by a lot over the next few years. Last year, they sold about 350 hydrogen-powered delivery vans. But by 2030, they’re aiming to sell over 100,000 of these trucks every year. That’s a huge jump!

They’re mainly targeting business folks with these trucks, especially in the US where RAM Trucks are pretty popular. Imagine those big, beefy RAM Trucks you see on the roads, but with hydrogen power!

These trucks aren’t your average pickups. They’re heavy-duty machines made to haul serious stuff. They can carry and tow loads that are way heavier than your regular trucks. These beasts can handle up to 19,500 pounds of weight! That’s a lot more than your typical RAM 1500.

Now, when it comes to charging, electric trucks are getting faster and more efficient. But for big work trucks like these, time is money. That’s where hydrogen comes in handy. But here’s the catch: hydrogen fuel can be pricey. Even though Stellantis believes the costs will drop in the future, right now it’s pretty high.

Some people are skeptical about the whole hydrogen thing. They say, “Hey, why would fleets want to pay more for fuel and trucks?” It’s a good point. Even though hydrogen can pack a lot of energy, it’s still more expensive than gas.

Real industry folks are also chiming in. They’re saying that hydrogen isn’t cheap right now, and even when it becomes greener, it’ll be needed more in heavy industries like steel and cement.

So, while hydrogen-powered trucks sound awesome, there are still some questions about whether they’ll be a hit in the long run.
